Rebecca Ledbetter

October 27, 1956 — March 10, 2021

Rebecca Brackett Ledbetter, 64, of Concord, NC passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 27, 1956 in Mooresville, NC to the late Edwin Cleveland Brackett and Geneva Mae Guffey Brackett.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, and her brother Edwin Cleveland Brackett, Jr. known to the family as “Pete.”

Mom is survived by her three children, Melissa Ledbetter Schaening and husband David; Amy Rebecca Efird and husband Jason; and David William Ledbetter Jr. and wife Stephanie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scot, Matthew and Allie, as well as her mother, Geneva Mae Brackett and brother Fred Steven Brackett and wife Beth; and husband of 30 years David Ledbetter.

There are many that will remember Rebecca for the friendship and laughs she offered throughout her life, but undoubtedly she saw her purpose as a mother and caretaker. As a mother to three young children she committed herself to every meeting, every recital, every practice, and every need. As a mother to three adult children she committed herself to offering wit, wisdom, guidance, and a love that persevered over any and all hardships. Mom had an unmatched gift for assuring someone they were loved, even in times when they did not love themselves. As a grandmother she has loved every minute, and made a clear impact on Scot, Matt, and Al Pal. She has always taken care of her entire family, and one of the joys of her final years was to live with and care for her mother. The bond they have shared is indelible. The challenge she would give to us all in passing is to live and love fully every day; to stay close to our loved ones, and to make room at our tables for anyone. In her honor, we will all be okay.
