Rebecca Tucker

Rebecca Havner Tucker, 80, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Rebecca was born September 5, 1941. She was preceded in death by husband, Larry “Red” Tucker; her daughter, Sonya Tucker; her sister, Patricia Kirkland and her parents, Helen and Pete Havner and James and Ethel Cobb.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Wesley (Jean) Tucker, Cathryn (Terry Morrison) Starling, and Christopher (Leslie) Tucker; her grandchildren, Meagan (Chris) Greene, Hunter Tucker, Curtis Trivett, Travis Trivett, Cody (Caitlin Burgess) Starling, Rebecca (Daniel Biles) Harp, Lewis Brewer and Ryne Tucker; siblings, Andy (Sherry) Havner, Dian (Andy) Clements, Gail (Victor) Nieves, and Shari (Tom) Yost; numerous great-grandchildren and her beloved Max who never left her side.

Rebecca was retired from K-Mart, where she was the Receiving Manager. She was a proud Army wife who loved to travel, listen to Elvis Presley, and spend time with her family. She was a caregiver at heart who spent her life caring for others. She and Larry enjoyed participating in Shriners where she was a member of the Nobelles. Rebecca was a dog lover who cared deeply for her animals and Max brought her great joy and companionship. Rebecca was a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals for her family, watching westerns, and sitting on her deck.

The family would like to express gratitude to Community Hospice and many other caregivers for their care and support during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Andy Havner. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
