Reece Small

Mr. Reece Small, 72, of 104 Sprucewood Circle, Locust, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Harris Hospice of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on Friday from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at Harmony Baptist Church in Stanfield on Saturday at 11:00 following a 30 minute state officiated by Rev. Jimmie Bartley. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. Born on April 29, 1937 in Columbus County to the late Willie Fussell Small and Ava Lena Spivey Small. Reece attended Harmony Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor from IBC/Merita Company in Charlotte. He is preceded in death by a sister, Martha Fowler. He is survived by his wife Emma Lee of the home, son, Jeff and wife Samantha Small of Stanfield, daughter Reba Small-Breeden and husband Donnie Breeden of Locust, sisters, Betty Strickland of Green Sea S.C., Louise Hinson and Sherry Powell both of Whiteville, Doris Hewett and Sandra Causey both of Tabor City, and Marilyn Holmes of Loris, S.C. He is survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 101 Willow Creek Drive, Stanfield, NC 28163.
