Rev. Brice Benton

Rev. Brice Lee Benton, 82, of Gold Hill, NC, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. Rev. Benton was born August 11, 1928, in Cabarrus County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Elizabeth Benton; father, Pink Benton; mother, Lillian Benton; son, James William Benton; seven brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, with a 30 minute state, at Highland Baptist Church in Concord. Rev. Mike Brown and Rev. Buck Canup will officiate and burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Ann Henry, 600 Gibson Drive Northwest, Concord. Survivors include his sons, Tommy Benton and Steve Benton, both of Gold Hill; daughters, Ann Henry of Concord and Wanda Turner of Harrisburg; and grandchildren, Josh Benton, Bridgette Benton, Linda Hagler, David Hagler, Joanne Furr, Christopher Benton and Jarod Benton.
