Richard Benge

Richard "Rick" Keith Benge, 68 years of age, of Locust, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017.
Rick was born April 6, 1949 in Cabarrus County to the late Walter Clay Benge, Jr. and the late Sarah Anne Hartsell Benge.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim White. The burial will follow at Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery, 20015 Coley Store Rd., Locust. Military honors will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard. At other times, the family will gather at the home of his brother, Barry Benge.
He is survived by his brothers, Barry Benge and wife Ruby, Michael Benge, Alex Benge and wife Dawn, all of Locust; nieces, Karen Marthers of Locust, Brittany Tench of Dallas; and nephew, Jason Benge of Locust.
Rick was a wonderful and loving brother, uncle, and friend. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy for six years. He previously worked at Metro Electronics as a technician, and currently has been working for Amazon in the Concord distribution center. He loved fishing, the beach, NASCAR, and college basketball and football. Rick will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
