Richard Eisert

Richard Edward Eisert, formerly of Olean, NY passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the home of his daughter in Midland, NC surrounded by his loving family.

Richard, a devout Roman Catholic, was born on November 6, 1919 in Allegany New York to the late Frank Jacob Eisert and the late Olive Clementine Eisert. He served aboard the U.S.S. Samar during WWII in the US Navy and was the co-owner of Eisert Contracting Corporation along with his brother William for many years retiring in the early1980s.
Richard, a private pilot, enjoyed flying as his favorite hobby. He attended Mass daily and loved playing with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Evans Eisert of Midland, NC; daughters, Lori (Kevin) Kovel of Midland, NC, Susan ( Michael) Retchless of Olean, NY, Teresa Ahl of Olean, NY; sons, Jim (Mari-Anne) Eisert of Mint Hill,NC, Steve (Becki) Eisert of Mint Hill, NC; sister, Helen Rowe of Houston, TX, Annabelle Doggett of Fall River, NJ; brother, William Eisert of Vero Beach, FL; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his sisters Mary Jane Kinney and Eleanor Watts.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, 2 pm at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8451 Idlewild Rd., Charlotte NC. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of his daughter, Lori Kovel, 14260 Cabarrus Station Rd., Midland NC 28107.
A celebration of Richard’s life will also be held for family and friends in Olean, NY at 10 am on August 29, 2015 at Saint Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church.
