Richard Forte

Richard Russell "Russ" Forte went to be with the Lord and join his beloved family on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

Russ was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1952 in Salisbury, NC to Richard T. "Dick" Forte and Doris R. Forte of Albemarle.

He is predeceased by his wife, Jan Ballard Forte, his son Amos R. Forte, his dad Richard T. "Dick" Forte, and Rosie his special canine companion.

Russ is survived by his mother, Doris R. Forte of Albemarle, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Amy Brinson of Albemarle, niece, Jennifer (Trent) Drye of China Grove, nephew, Brett (Kassi) Brinson of Faith, NC, and great-nieces and great-nephews, Larson Drye, TJ Drye, and Bryant Brinson.

Russ was an Albemarle City Fireman and retired from the NCDOT as a parts specialist. Russ was married to his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, and best friend, Jan Forte. They had a precious son Amos R. Forte. Russ and Jan enjoyed going to cruise-ins, car shows, and listening to beach music. He restored several vintage cars, some of which he would take to the cruise ins in nearby towns. They had a small farm in Western Stanly County and he enjoyed working on the farm and taking care of his animals. Russ grew up working along side his dad, Dick Forte, in his Pure/Union 76 gasoline station in Albemarle, he was very mechanical minded and could work on anything that had a motor. Russ loved the Lord and was always willing to share his faith and witness to others. He adored his family and strived to always take good care of them. He could be counted on to do as he said he would do. He was a man of his word.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Trent Drye with interment immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
