Richard Gentry

Richard Earl Gentry, 71 years of age, of Misenheimer, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his home.

Richard was born February 29, 1944 in Richmond County to the late William David Gentry and the late Hannah Bertha Gentry. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Ila Parker, Bertha Wagner and Linda Kay; and two brothers, Al Gentry and Harold Gentry.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Open Door Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Open Door Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Mike Almond, and Rev. Nathan Hammill. Burial will follow at the Open Door Baptist Church Cemetery at 24639-A Hwy. 49, Richfield.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Kathy Gentry of Misenheimer; five children, Lorie Yow and husband Rod, Wendy Long and husband Jason, Pam Bunton and husband Rob, and Denise Lowder and husband Adam, and Jonathan Gentry and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Brandie Burleson, Amber Short, Charlotte Ross, Jordan Clodfelter, Alec Lowder, Elizabeth Lowder, Emma Lowder, Brenden Wale, and Matthew Davis; one great-grandchild, Gracelyn Ross; brother, William Henry Gentry; and sister, Barbara Gentry.
