Richard Lewis

Richard "Pete" Lewis, 47 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at his home in Charlotte.

Pete was born July 26, 1967 in Gaston County to the late Oscar Ray Lewis and the late Judy Marlene Greene Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jabo Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 3 pm until 5 pm on Sunday, February, 15, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jerry Ingle, will follow at 5 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. At other times the family will be meeting at Carolyn Conner's home, 16204 Barbee Rd., Stanfield.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashlee O'Neil of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Levi, Addison, and Chance Mauney, and Mason Helms; brother, Junior Lewis and wife Theresa of Stanfield; sister, Carolyn Conner and husband David of Stanfield; sister-in-law, Rhonda Gunter of Stanfield; 11 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and numerous friends who loved him dearly.

Pete was loved very deeply by everyone and was proud of his family. He was known as a great friend and caregiver to everyone. His sense of humor and quick wittedness went hand in hand with his free spirit personality.
