Richard Mccartney

Mr. Richard Earl "Bud" McCartney, 70, of 70 White Street South, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his home. Bud was born on December 26, 1939 in LaSalle County, Louisiana to the late Ellis Earl and Pearl Aletha Callendar McCartney. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 12:30 until 1:30 pm. Funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Buster Pigg officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family meeting place will be the home. Bud was a retired newspaper deliveryman with the Independent Tribune and an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing the game as often as possible. Bud was called the “Hammer” by his fellow golfers. He is survived by his wife, Mary S. McCartney, of the home; sons, Richard "Mike" McCartney and fiance Theresa, of Catawba, SC and Douglas M. McCartney, of Maiden, NC; daughter, Beth Jerome, of Flowery Branch, GA; brother, Jerry McCartney, of Clover, SC; sisters, Terry Harris and Shirley Sexton, both of Rock Hill, SC; step son, Sheldon Jordan, of Indian Land, SC; step daughters, Sandra Seymoure, of Van Wyck, SC and Shonna Johnson, of Cary, NC; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 4819 Park Road Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28029.
