Richard Reames

Richard Dearmon Reames, 62, of 12139 Rock Hole Road, Stanfield, passed away, Sunday, October 18, 2009, in CMC Northeast in Concord. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 21, at Friendship Baptist Church, 9360 Oak Grove Rd., Stanfield, at 2:00 p.m., with a 30 minute state. Rev. Jon Stephens will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home. Mr. Reames was born October 18, 1947, in Charlotte, to the former Jessie Vernell Millican and Johnnie DeArmon Reames. A stepbrother, Ralph Scott, also preceded him in death. Mr. Reames was a long haul truck driver, volunteered with West Stanly EMS, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Reames of the home; his son, Johnnie Reames of Stanfield; his daughter, Rebecca Love and husband, Tom, of Midland; and his granddaughter, Elana Grace Love.
