Richard Howard Stutts

Richard "Rick" Howard Stutts, 70, of Concord, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Rick was born September 3, 1954, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Bobby Lanier and Barbara Howard Stutts. In addition to his father, Rick was also preceded in death by his adoptive father, Herman Stutts.

Survivors include daughter, Kristen (Jamie) Grindstaff of Concord; daughter, Beth; mother, Barbara Howard Stutts; grandchildren, Kaylee and Kelsey Grindstaff, Ian and Dylan; siblings, Melody, Sue, Pete, and Tommy; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rick went by many names: Ricky, Pawpaw, Slick Rick, Desperado, Buck and many more. He was a one-of-a-kind man. Rick had a huge heart for the elderly, homeless, children, and women. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. For many, many years at Christmas he put together charity rides for the battered women's shelter, cooked for the homeless, donated, played Santa Claus and so much more. Rick's true love in his life was riding his bike across country raising money for any cause he could find.

Rick was also a business owner in Georgia, where he owned a Sports Bar and Country Store. During this time, he received many plaques for sponsoring children's sports. Rick also loved his girls more than life itself. His girls were truly his reason for living and carrying on. He was on heck of a Daddy and Pawpaw.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.
