Richard Thompson

Richard Wayne Thompson, Sr. 75, of Mint Hill, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Thompson was born April 27, 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Edward Thompson and the late Gladys Thompson.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Thompson.

Mr. Thompson graduated from Carlisle Military School in 1965.  He went on to pursue a long career in marine construction.  Mr. Thompson loved the water and thrived in every project he superintended.  Mr. Thompson truly loved his work and his family remembers many stories he loved to tell.  Later in life, he received his ordination in ministry.

Survivors include daughter, Jeanette Thompson Wilson and husband Kenneth Wilson of Mint Hill, NC, grandson Kenny Wilson, wife Samantha and great grandson Austin, granddaughter Kassi Wilson.

He is also survived by his son, Richard Thompson, Jr. and wife Stacy Thompson of Clover, SC, grandson Gage Thompson, wife Kaley and great granddaughters Adelina and Liliana, granddaughter Brittany White and husband Hunter White.
