Richard Verrier

Richard Joseph Verrier, age 64, of 8524 Indian Summer Trail, Harrisburg, NC, passed away on August 2, 2011 at WG Bill Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. A service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 12:30 PM with burial to follow at 1 PM. Richard was born in Washington, DC, July 17, 1947, to the late Louis Joseph Verrier and the late Emma Caroline Davis Verrier. He is also preceded in death by his only son, Jason Lee Verrier, and a brother, Robert Verrier. He is survived by 2 grandchildren, Alyssa Danielle Verrier, age 9, Damien Lee Verrier, age 8 of Harrisburg; daughter-in-law, Lisa Verrier – Christy and husband Kirk of Harrisburg, 3 step grandchildren, Katie Hope Christy, Hayden Brown Christy, Jonathan Lee Christy, and a brother, Willie Verrier and wife Joy of Gaffney, SC, niece Janet Verrier Lail, nephew Aaron Verrier, and 2 grand nephews Aaron Michael Verrier and Gabriel Lail of Gaffney, SC. Richard proudly served his country in the US Army and was employed as a Rolloff truck driver. Richard was a warm, loving generous man and will be missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Verrier family.
