Ricky Mesimer

July 28, 1965 — March 3, 2017

Ricky Lee Mesimer, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at his home in Indian Trail, NC surrounded by family and friends.


Ricky was born July 28, 1965 in Cabarrus County to the late Jimmy Lee Mesimer, Sr and the late June Devlin Kerr. He is also preceded in death by his nephew, Brandon Mesimer and niece, Pam Goodman.


A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at New Life Church in Locust, NC, officiated by Pastor Brandon Bowers, and Pastor Tony Creel. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of Kimberlee Mullis, 5443 H Copley Road, Stanfield, NC.


Ricky is survived by his mother, Claudia Mesimer of Stanfield; his brother Jimmy Mesimer, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; his sisters Stephanie Mesimer of Albemarle, Kimberlee Mullis and Allison Mesimer, both of Stanfield, NC; and three nephews, David Goodman, Chris Mullis and Aaron Mullis; and six nieces, Jennifer Joyner and husband, Kelly Johnson and husband, Sherri Carpenter, Ashley Johnson and husband, Courtney Mesimer, and Emily Mullis; and a long time friend, Herbert Kerr of Indian Trial, NC.


Ricky was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met. He worked in construction, bricklaying and in roofing most his life. He loved the outdoors; fishing was his favorite past time. He had a huge heart and a smile that was infectious that would brighten even rainy days. He was sweet, kind and always generous to all. He lived life to the fullest. He had a way about him that would bring comfort and ease during difficult times.


Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Boulevard, Monroe, NC, 28110.
