Rita Helms

Rita Diana Rushing Helms, 68 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Helms was born August 16, 1947 in Monroe, NC to the late John Henry Rushing and the late Blanche Hathcock Rushing. She was also preceded in death by her father in law and mother in law, Vade Helms and Betty Starnes Helms.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland officiated by Rev. Dwight Mabry and Rev. Brandon Bowers. Her family welcomes casual attire for her services.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Claude Herman Helms of Stanfield, NC; sisters, Margaret Tucker and husband Johnny, Maxine Cornett and husband John, and Mary Barbee and husband Jan; brothers, Zane Rushing and wife Elaine, and Lane Rushing and wife Gayle; brother in law Roy Helms and wife Martha; numerous nieces and nephews; all her fishing friends in Ocean Isle; as well as special friend Betty Jean Mullis.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
