Robert Barbee

Robert William “Bob” Barbee, 88 of Harrisburg, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. The family will receive friends at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Harrisburg, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Rev. Tim Bostic and Rev. Mike Parks will officiate and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Cathy Johnson. Robert was born on May 19, 1924, in Cabarrus County to the late James Mack Barbee and the late Lula Springs Howie Barbee. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Barbee, in February of 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Cress and husband Lynn of Concord and Cathy Johnson and husband Kevin of Harrisburg; one grandson, Josh Goodman and wife Renee of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Sara and Mark Goodman also of Harrisburg; brother, Jimmy Barbee and wife Aileen of Liberty, SC and a sister, Betty Lee of Harrisburg. He was a loving, dedicated Christian husband and father who adored his grandson and great grandchildren.
