Robert Bost, Sr.

Robert Thomas Bost, Sr., 90, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his home.

Bobby was born September 16, 1929 in Charlotte to the late Henry Thomas Bost and Grace Lucille Lemmond Bost. He was also preceded in death by son, Robert Thomas Bost, Jr..

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, June 8, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jason Russell and Rev. Brent Carpenter. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill. He will lie in state on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm to pay respects.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Agnes Fudge Bost of Charlotte; grandsons, Karl Robert Bost of Charlotte, and Wesley Thomas Bost of Harrisburg; and caretaker, Cheryl (Guy) White of Midland.

Bobby worked as a maintenance road supervisor for the City of Charlotte until he retired in 1985. He was a faithful member of Hope Community Fellowship. He was also a member of the VFW #4059 Mint Hill and the American Legion Post 433. Bobby enjoyed tinkering, fixing, and collecting old cars. He also loved collecting train sets and model cars.
Bobby was a loving husband, father, granddad, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Marcos and staff, Home For Care and Maximum Home Care for their loving and compassionate care. They would also would like to thank his church family and the men of the church and cousin Billy Hill, who spent night and day at the hospital giving him all the nurturing care they could. The family was blessed to have Cheryl, who was like a daughter to Bobby and Agnes, and her husband, Guy White for their devoted kindness and love through the past 12 years.
