Robert Cole

Robert DeWitt Cole, 72 years of age, (who celebrated his 43rd anniversary of his 29th birthday), of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Cole was born November 4, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Platt DeWitt Cole and the late Clarcie Huneycutt Cole.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Adam M. Hatley and Rev Jay Weemhoff. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle, NC.

Survivors include wife of 53 years, Dianne Cole, children and spouses, Tammy and Jim Metzger of Auburn, WA, Kathy and Chris Everette, Kelly and Craig Hatley, Johnny Cole and fiancée Becky Harris, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, brother, Wilson Cole all of Albemarle, NC.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of a family of 35, who led them in service to the Lord, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, trapping, and painting landscapes. One of his greatest loves was watching his family playing sports in the backyard. He was a dedicated employee, who improved his work environment by inventing and improving tools for better quality. Prior to retirement, his last employer was Custom Doors. Robert was a member of Shepherd's Chapel of Albemarle, NC.
