February 26, 1927 — February 15, 2025

Concord

Robert W. Fowler, 97, of Concord, NC. Formerly of Ellicott City, MD passed on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Fowler was born February 26, 1927 in Maryland to the late Henry Elijah Fowler and the late Leota Edith Fowler.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean; sons, Robert (Sherry) Fowler and Glenn ("Captain" Brandy) Fowler; and five grandchildren, Sean (Joan), Jeremy (Rachel), Megan, Eric and Zachary Fowler. He is also survived by three nieces and five nephews.

Robert served two years in the Navy during World War II and was training for the invasion of Japan when the war ended.

He enjoyed family trips traveling in his RV and camped in every state but Alaska and California. He also enjoyed taking cruises and traveled to 12 different countries.

Robert's greatest joy was his family. He valued supporting his grandchildren's interest. He shared his love of target shooting and archery with those around him. You could always find him organizing and playing games with his family and the children in the neighborhood. He volunteered his time with the local elementary school's reading program.

Robert was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Home-Instead, the staff on the Age-Friendly floor at Atrium Health Cabarrus, the staff of Atrium Health Hospice, and the staff at Tucker Hospice Home for their loving care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Fowler family.
