Robert Gardner, Jr.

Robert Fulton Gardner,Jr. 88, of Goldsboro, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice of Goldsboro.

Robert was born February 6, 1933 in North Carolina, to the late Robert Fulton Gardner and the late Maude Esther Gardner. He was also preceded in death by wife, Helen Marie Gardner; brothers, Caldwell Gardner, Harry Gardner, Eddie Gardner, and Charlie Gardner; and sisters, Ruth Hartman, and Mattie Baucom.

The family will receive friends from 1pm - 2pm on Thursday, December 9,2021, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord . A Graveside service will follow at Carolina Memorial Park located at 601 Mt Olivet Rd in Concord, officiated by Rev. Tim Newton.

Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He loved the lord and listening to gospel music.  Robert retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, having served in Vietnam and many others tours of duty.  He was also proud of his Masonic membership as a part of the Sudan Shriners and as a 33rd degree Mason, which is the highest honor.

Survivors include daughter, Leigh Gardner Lane of Concord, NC; Grandson, Zachary Lane; and many beloved extended family.
