Robert Gary Green, 68, of Concord, NC passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his home.
Bob was born May 30, 1948 in Chicago, IL to the late Julius Charles Green and the late Alma Arlene Jerrett Green. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Green.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Debra Green of the home; daughter, Cynthia Ann Green Barbee and husband Dale of Concord, NC; son, David Michael Green and wife Callie of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Jake and Cole Barbee, both of Concord, NC; brothers, Jim Green and wife Nancy of Cedar Rapids, IA, Terry Green of Garrett, IN, Tom Green of Apex, NC, Rick Green and wife Kim of Maple Grove, MN; sisters, Jackie Rogge and husband Steve of Bancroft, MI, Pat Green of Waxhaw; step-mother, Janine Green of Matthews, NC; sister-in-law, Cindy Hillis of Fairfax, VA; brother-in-laws, John Potter and wife Sharon, Michael Potter, both of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and coach. He worked at Ben Mynatt Chevrolet as a sales manager for many years. He served on the board of the wheelchair sports league, The Miracle League, and also proudly coached for the Charlotte Rollin' Hornets and the Carolina Mauldin Maulers. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards. He always proudly loved to watch his grandsons, Jake, play baseball and basketball, and Cole play soccer. Bob was a caring, giving teacher and coach of all things. He always saw the bright side of everyone and every situation. Bob was a positive and driven person, whose bright smile will always be remembered. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
