Robert Harvey Haigh (Bob), 65, departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2017.
Bob was a native of Concord, born October 21, 1951 to Paul and Mary Haigh. He was a graduate of Concord High School and a medic in the North Carolina National Guard. Bob loved his work as a commercial building superintendent with McDevitt, Street & Bovis and ending with InterCon Building Corp. when he retired in 2015.
He was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman who enjoyed living at Ocean Isle Beach, NC for a period of time before returning to Concord. He spent much of his retirement enjoying time at Sunset Beach, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Alexander children Allen Haigh (Kristy), Stephanie Haigh and his brother Edward Haigh (Nancy), sister Kitty Collins (Tim). Bob also had two step-children, Leta Wiley (Scott) and Phil Long (Angela). Bob adored his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Devin, Allie, Alayna, Karley, Alex, Hailey, Clay, Taylor, Jacob, Avery, Summer and great grandson, Colten.
Visitation to be held on January 14, 2017 at 12:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord, NC followed by the memorial service at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or North Carolina Baptist Men Disaster Relief, PO Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512 or the donor’s choice.
