Robert Hartsell, Sr

Robert Green “Rob” Hartsell, Sr., 83, of Midland, NC, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Hartsell was born November 10, 1927 in Cabarrus County. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Jackson Hartsell, and his mother, Laura Delette Black Hartsell. Mr. Hartsell was a driver for Liquid Air of Charlotte and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Midland. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, at Bethel United Methodist Church of Midland. The memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Boyd Hartsell, of the home; sons, Robert Green Hartsell, Jr. and Larry Glen Hartsell, both of Midland; daughter, Lisa H. Edwards, and husband, Jim, of Concord; brothers and sisters, Jack Hartsell of Midland, Rose Wagoner of North Myrtle Beach, S. C., Gay Irvin of Cary, Ervin Hartsell of Midland, Betty Hase of North Myrtle Beach, S. C., and Jane Bates of Honea Path, S. C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107 or to the charity of your choice.
