Robert Brooks Layton, 78, of Concord, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
Robert was born October 13, 1945, in North Carolina to the late Charles Arthur Layton and the late Joy Layton.
Robert served in the Navy, as well as the Army National Guard. He was an automotive diesel mechanic by trade in Greensboro, NC before moving to Concord for Duke Power, where he eventually retired.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Center United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 3:00 pm at Center United Methodist Church in Concord officiated by Pastor Brian Crady. The burial will be held privately.
Survivors include son, Eric (Ami) Layton of Saint Cloud, FL, sister-in-law, Linda (Phil) Bunn of ME.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Concord & Greater Cabarrus County in Robert’s name. https://www.cabarrushumanesociety.org/help/donations
