Robert Lefler

Robert Eugene “Bob” Lefler, age 77 of 246812 Hwy 73, Albemarle, passed away on February 06, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Wednesday from 6 to 8. At other times the family will meet at the home of his son, Robbie, 622 Edgemont Street, Albemarle. The funeral will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 2 PM. Rev. Jacqueline Tookey will officiate and the burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. He was a Ranger for Boy Scouts of America and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy. Born in Stanly County, NC on December 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Houston Alexander Lefler and the late Lula Sides Lefler. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie Harwood Lefler in 1995, second wife, Betty Almond Lefler and a sister, Lillian Lisk. He is survived by his son, Robert “Robbie” Lefler, Jr. and wife Myra of Albemarle; daughter, Debra Dianne Nash of Stanley, NC; and sisters, Ramelle Burleson, Betty Drye and Joyce Roberson, all of Albemarle; grandchildren, Bradley Nash, Chris Nash, Amy Culp and Beth Lefler; 3 great grandchildren and special friend Emma Morton of Albemarle.
