Robert Love

Robert P. Love, 83, of Austin Road, Locust, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. He was born June 10, 1927, in Stanly County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coil Brown Love and Lottie Mae Love; grandson, Daniel Blackwelder; and a special daughter-in-law, Paulette Love. Mr. Love worked for Cannon Mills for 45 years and the Town of Stanfield for 15 years. Visitation will be Sunday, June 13, 6 – 8 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Monday, 2:00 p.m., with a 30 minute state, at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church, Concord, officiated by Rev. Gary Morris. Burial will be in the Love's Chapel United Methodist Cemetery, Stanfield. At other times, the family will meet at the home of Mr. Love. Survivors include his wife, Leola Mae Love of the home; son, Roy Lee Love and wife, Gail, of Locust; daughters, Jo Ann Yow and husband, Glenn, of Locust, Betty Martin and husband, Dean, of Locust, Tammy Melton and husband, Robbie, of Stanfield; sisters, Maude Holloman of Locust, Beddie Jean Mullis of Stanfield, and Vernie Smith of Oakboro; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; and seven step-grandchldren.
