Robert Morton

Robert Mitchell Morton, 54, of Concord, NC, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast of Concord. Mr. Morton was born January 3, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Lynn Morton; his mother, Flora Mae Furr Morton; his brothers, David and Frankie Morton; and sister, Linda Kee. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. Pastor Allen Merrington will officiate and burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park of Kannapolis. At other times, the family will meet at his home at 5705 Hidden Park Drive of Concord. Survivors include wife of 23 years Elizabeth “Ann” Harvell Morton of the home; sons Adam Morton of the home and Mitchell Morton and his wife, Nicole, of Kannapolis; his daughter, Jessica Barrett and her husband, Stephen, of Midland; grandchildren, Joshua Morton, Robbie Barrett, and Allison Morton; and brothers, Bobby Morton and wife, Connie, of S. C., Michael Morton of Salisbury, and Tommy Morton and wife, Amanda, of Kannapolis. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Concord, 244 General Services Drive, Concord, NC 28025.
