Robert Mullis

Robert Owen Mullis, 73 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Union in Monroe.

Mr. Mullis was born December 25, 1942 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Robert Glenn Mullis and the late Kathleen Mary Mullis.

He was a US Army veteran and received a Purple Heart while serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was proud of his own military service and was always helpful to those who served their country.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Survivors include wife, Gail Mullis of Oakboro; daughter, Lisa Mullis of Wingate; granddaughters, Jordan, Alexis and Jada; grandson, Jason Lee; sisters, JoAnn Thomas (Doug) of Marshville, Peggy Stamp of Monroe, and Kathy Helms (Larry) of Wingate; and brothers, Carroll Mullis of Marshville and Jackie Mullis (Roxanne) of Marysville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 3360.
