Robert Phillips

Mr. Robert Glenn Phillips, 93, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his home. He was born on September 5, 1917 in Cabarrus County to the late Clary Phillips and the late Lula Talley Connell. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cauble Phillips, who passed away in April of 1998; brothers, Coy and Ralph Phillips; and sister, Melvia Queen. Glenn was a member of McGill Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 51, where he was a past commander. He was a retired slasher room foreman with Cannon Mills Company, Plant # 6 and a veteran of the US Army. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Ed Daiel officiating. He is survived by his son David Phillips and wife, Barbara, of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Lois McDonald, of Concord; two grandchildren, Brian Phillips, of NC and Louisiana and Kevin Phillips, of Mich.
