Robert Dell Poplin, 71 years of age, of Mount Gilead, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at home.
Mr. Poplin was born August 15, 1944 to the late Coy McRay and Lottie Treece Poplin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother Mitch Poplin. Robert was an extremely gifted craftsman, owning Lobo Crafts, that was known for wood carvings, knife making, and other primitive crafts. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Smith officiating.
Survivors include: wife, Kay Poplin; brothers, Eugene Poplin, Ricky Poplin, Johnny Ray Poplin; children, Sandy Poplin, Randy Poplin, Wayne Poplin, Tammy Poplin Purvis, Sandi "Starla" Poplin, Bradley Poplin; 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
