Robert Schroeder

Mr. Schroeder, 80, of Concord, NC passed away August 10, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on March 2, 1931 in Cleveland, OH. He spent 46 years in Chesire, CT where he married and raised his family before moving to Spring Hill, FL in 1982. He moved to NC in 2007 where he resided until his death. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ann Nordstrom Schroeder of Concord; his daughters, Lynn Merrick and husband Bill, of Northford, CT; Cynthia Varsell and husband Craig of Burlington, CT; and his son, Steven Schroeder and wife Janet, of Harrisburg, NC. He was a proud grandfather of Eric and Amy Varsell of Burlington; Bethany and Alyssa Merrick of Northford; and Megan and John Murphy, Jr. and wife, Rachel of NC. He is also survived by a brother, Thomas Schroeder and wife, Linda of Southington, CT and many nieces and nephews. Bob loved people and considered all he met his friend. He enjoyed travel, time with family and friends and summers in Western Mass. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you for the loving care provided to him by the staff of Carolina Medical Center-University and Dr. J. Stuart Salmon and his staff. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wallingford, CT on August 23, 2011. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
