Robert Yager

Robert Glen Yager, age 87 of Albemarle, NC, passed away on November 15, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 11am until 1pm. Mass will follow at 1pm at the Annunciation Catholic Church, officiated by Father Peter Fitzgibbons. A reception will follow from 2pm until 3pm. Burial will be at a later date at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Binghamton, NY. Mr. Yager was born in Delaware County, NY on July 26, 1924, to the late Glen Eugene Yager and the late Frances Belle Harris Yager. He is also preceded in death by brother, Ward Yager; sisters, Dorothy Whalen and Marion Brown; nephew, Robert “Butch” Yager. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Corinne M. Yager of the home. He is the cherished father of daughter, Linda Drimmer of Mt. Gilead, NC and husband Dr. Marc Alan Drimmer of Princeton, NJ; and son, Leon Yager and wife Cynthia of Greene, NY; and the adored grandfather of Danielle Leigh Drimmer of Manhattan, NY, Michelle Anne Drimmer of Nashville, TN, Robert David Drimmer of Nashville, TN, Joseph Yager of Philadelphia, PA and Anne Marie Yager of Binghamton, NY. Mr. Yager proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and was an active participant of Annunciation Catholic Church. He was an avid member and past president of the Hornets Nest Antique Car Club. Mr. Yager was on the Board of Directors at Woodrun on Tillery. Robert will be greatly missed by his beloved wife and cherished children and grandchildren. Also mourning his loss is his faithful companion Casey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church, 416 N. Second Street, Albemarle, NC, 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Yager family.
