Rodney Summerell

Rodney Eugene Summerell, 78 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
Rodney was born November 22, 1935 in North Carolina to the late Clarence Lee Summerell and the late Doris Hatley Summerell Harwood.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Bobby Summerell, and sister, Zell Cline. He was last employed by Collins and Aikman as a machine operator.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Marvin Goodnight. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle NC.
Survivors include step-sister, Ann Hatley of Albemarle; step-sister, Pat Blankenship of Albemarle, NC; three niece, Bryte Summerell Lackey of Concord, Donna Strishock of Manassas, VA and Tambra Cochran of Concord; two nephew, Kenneth Smith of Concord and James Smith of Leigh High Acres, FL.
