Roger Barbee

Roger Dale Barbee, 66 years of age, of Locust, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis.

Roger was born May 16, 1948 in Albemarle to the late Dewey Alfred Barbee and the late Ora Lee Barbee. He was also preceded in death by brother, Bobby McClain Barbee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 3:00 pm, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust officiated by Rev. Mark Hovis. Burial will follow in the Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 406 Renee Ford Road, Locust.

Roger served his country for over 30 years in the NC Air National Guard. He loved playing golf, living the retired beach life, enjoying old friends and making new ones.

Survivors include wife of 44 years, Lana Burris Barbee of Locust; two sisters, Shirley (Bud) Kluttz of Locust, and Judy (Ray) Parnell of Locust, sister-in-law, Virginia Barbee of Oakboro; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved schnauzer, Gracie.
