Roger Mccleskey
November 30, 1950 — November 13, 2015
Roger Dale McCleskey, (Dale), 64 of Harrisburg, NC received the white flag, winning his angel wings on November 13, 2015.
Dale courageously fought a yearlong battle with cancer. There were bad days and not so bad days but he still maintained his sense of humor. His favorite tee shirt had the words “Cancer Sucks” printed on it. Yes it truly does.
Dale was born in Amarillo, Tx. to the late Bud and Wilma McCleskey on November 30, 1950. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte and employed by Este’s Express. He loved Nascar and anything race related.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie McCleskey, twin sister Gale Starnes of Kannapolis, NC, and several nieces and nephews. His “Monk” held a special place in his heart. Dale was known as “Daddy” to 4 special “fur babies”, Brandi, Sandi, Kelsey, and Dexter.
Receiving of family and friends will be on Monday, November 16, 2016 at 10:00 am with a celebration of life service following at 11:00 am. Dr. Tim E. McDaniel will be officiating.
