Roger Morris

Roger Franklin Morris, 83, of Caswell Beach, NC and Newland, NC and formerly of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home on Oak Island.

Roger was born November 24, 1933 in Albemarle, North Carolina to the late Henry Travis Morris and the late Martha Elizabeth Blake Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Helen Gay Hyatt Morris in 2005. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Mazel Morris Helms, Henry Travis Morris, Jr, Mildred Morris Wilkinson, Ruby Morris Lowder and William Bennett Morris and their spouses.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle, 522 N Second St., Albemarle, NC 28001. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001.

He is survived by his son Mark and wife Dolly of Lorton, VA; and daughters, Amy and husband Carl Beene of Fayetteville, NC and Robin and husband Tom Enterline of Blowing Rock, NC; grandchildren Mac and Eliza Enterline, Kathryn and Martha Owens, Cullen and Molly Beene, and Ana Maria Morris.

Roger attended Catawba College and graduated from Pfeiffer College. He was the owner of Southern Tire Sales of Burlington, NC for over 20 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Germany from 1957-1959. .
