Roger Smith

Roger Allen Smith, 74 years of age, of Locust, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Albemarle. Roger was born July 5, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Claude Allen Smith and the late Mary Hart Russell Smith. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 1:30pm, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Wayne Richardson will be at 2:00pm on Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle. The burial will follow at the Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 24671 Millingport Road, Locust. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Lambert Smith of the home; daughter, Debbie Efird and husband Steve of Albemarle; and grandson, Tyler Efird and wife Katharine of Knoxville, TN. He was an electrician and retired as a level 3 Inspector for Cabarrus County. He was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Stokes Lodge #32 in Concord, Monroe York Rite, and the Oasis Shriners International in Charlotte.
