Roger Taylor

Roger Lentz Taylor, 73 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

Roger was born August 18, 1941 in Stanly County to the late Thea Lentz Taylor and Pallie Nadine Bowers Taylor of Albemarle.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Joe Smith and Rev. Ron Honeycutt officiating. The burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. At other times the family will be meeting at the home.

In addition to his mother, Pallie Nadine Bowers Taylor, he is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Hazel Louise Burgess Taylor of the home; son, Rodney Lentz Taylor and wife Kelly of Albemarle; grandchildren, Christopher Lentz Taylor and wife Amber of Norwood, and Christian Taylor of Albemarle; great-grandchildren, Chastity, Harmony, Dalton, Keely, Cayden; brother, Jimmy Wayne Taylor and wife Judith of Charlotte; special family friends, James Plowman and Bobby Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger retired after 31 years of service from Lance, Inc. as truck driver, and later went to work at Lowe's.
