Roland Johnson, Sr.

Roland Dewitt Johnson, 82, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at in Harrisburg.

Mr. Johnson was born June 6, 1938 in North Carolina to the late Sam Johnson and the late Clara Adkins Johnson.

He was also preceded in death by wife, Kathy Johnson and daughter Angie Cribb.

Survivors include sons, Roland Johnson, Jr. and wife Kellie of Harrisburg, NC and Michael Johnson of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was devoted to God and shared his joy and love for Christ with all he met.  In retirement he was still very active and could be seen almost daily on walks in his Laurel Springs home and his Harrisburg home.  He loved the word of God and lived by the ideas expressed in Philippians 1:21 "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain."    He was currently a member at New Life Church of Jesus Christ in Concord and for many years was a member at First Church in Charlotte, NC.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm, Monday, January 11, 2021 at New Life Church of Jesus Christ. The funeral service will be on Monday at 6:30 pm at New Life Church of Jesus Christ in Concord officiated by Pastor Lawson Whitson.  A private burial will take place in Laurel Springs, NC.
