Ronald Heafner

Ronald Austin Heafner, 61, of Oakboro, NC passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ronnie was born September 12, 1956 in Charlotte, NC to the late Charles Earl Heafner and the late Frances Emma Austin Heafner.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Rena Barbee Heafner; sons, Kerry Heafner and wife Hannah, and Kolby Heafner and wife Allison; daughter, Kayla Casey and husband Sean; granddaughter, Gwendolyn and grandson Austin; brothers, Mike Heafner and wife Nique, and Dennis Heafner and wife Cindi; and sisters, Bonnie Haigler and husband Vann, and Susan Heafner Benton.

Ronnie loved many things in life, but first and foremost he loved being a husband, father, Papa and brother. He enjoyed living life with his beautiful wife, being Captain Ron on Lake Tillery, motorcycle rides with his brothers and swinging the golf clubs with his sons.  Nothing made him light up more than seeing his grandbabies.  Ronnie will be truly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Wayne Bennett and Pastor Brandon Bowers at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Oakboro, with a 30 minute state.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
