Ronald Mcmanus, Sr

Ronald Lee McManus, Sr., 63, of Troy, NC, formerly of Midland, NC, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast, Concord, NC. Mr. McManus was born July 27, 1947, in Cabarrus County. He was preceded in death by his father, Green Moore “GM” McManus; mother, Patsy Furr McManus; and wife; Glenda Barber McManus. He was the owner of Spectrum Painting Company and attended White Crest Church at Lake Tillery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland. Rev. Glennon Balser and Layman Marvin Lyles will officiate. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park of Kannapolis at a later date. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his son Chris, at 1241 Pressley Downs Drive, Concord. Survivors include his wife, Rosalia Kennedy McManus, of the home; sons, Chris McManus and wife, Kim, of Concord and Ronald Lee McManus, Jr., of Troy; daughter, Kim McManus Smith, of Bluffton, SC; brother, Robert Franklin McManus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Donald and Janice Helms, of Lumberton; uncle, Jim McManus and aunt, Dot, of Midland; mother-in-law, Mrs. Johnnie Ellington Barber, of Mint Hill; mother-in-law, Mrs. Elfreida K. Eudy, of Concord; and grandchildren, Eli and Caleb McManus and Kenny and Shelby Smith. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
