Jean (Spry) Griswold-Lynn

Jean (Spry) Griswold-Lynn, 76, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home.

Born February 13, 1947 into a career military family.  She attended elementary/middle/high school in military towns around the country and graduated from Key West High School in 1964.   She attended Catawba College in Salisbury, NC.  

Preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Chunn Spry and her younger brother, Kenneth Wayne Spry, who were there to welcome her to eternal life.  

Survived by her husband John Stuart Lynn, Sr.; her brother David (Debbie) Spry, her four children - Beth (Alan) Campbell, Rob Griswold, Jack (Heather) Griswold, Jon (Jen) Griswold; and her six grandchildren - Madeline and Emma Campbell, Mick and Zach Griswold, Jonathan and Shayla Griswold; and John's children; John Lynn Jr., Laura (Faby) Williams and their children Faby, Jr. and Charles, Luke (Stephanie) Lynn and their child, Ruby.

In addition to her family, her passions included pioneering mobile mammography, travel, cruising, scuba diving, and real estate.

For fifteen years, she owned/operated a mobile mammography program based out of Charlotte, NC, that provided both breast health education programs and mammograms to low income women as well as uninsured/ underinsured women throughout four Southeastern states.  She and her program received national recognition and many awards - including recognition from Oprah Winfrey’s “Angels Network”.  A graduate of Leadership Charlotte (class XVI), she was a Charlotte Chamber Entrepreneur of the Year; sat on numerous healthcare boards at the national level, and has lectured nationally and internationally on healthcare issues.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord at 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28025.
