Ronnie Kiker

Ronnie Devon Kiker, 67 years of age, of Marshville, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Carolina's HealthCare System Union in Monroe.

Ronnie was born December 20, 1948 in Union County to the late William Homer Kiker and the late Nancy Rachel Rushing Kiker. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Davis and Randy Kiker.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 3601 Sikes Mill Rd., Monroe. Military honors will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard. At other times, the family will be gathering at his home, 3536 Tarlton Mill Rd., Marshville.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Kiker of Marshville; son, Harold Purser and wife April of Marshville; grandchildren, Kamarri Chambers, Casie Yandle and husband Andrew of Monroe, Madison Purser of Marshville; sisters, Shirley Sedgwick and husband Ernie of Monroe, Delorce Furr and husband Frank of Monroe, Gloria Stroupe of Monroe, Shan Tetlow and husband Jeff of Monroe; the love of his life, Ruth Ashburner of Marshville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronnie honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974. He worked for 22 years at McCarter Electric. Ronnie loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, "Punkin". He enjoyed gardening and riding his motorcycle. Ronnie will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
