Ronnie Smith

Ronnie Eugene Smith, 59 years of age, died peacefully at his home in Concord, NC on Friday, March 7th, 2014. He was born in Cabarrus County on November 15, 1954 and was the son of Jessie Eugene Smith and Mildred Burris Smith. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1978, and owned his own drywall business for many years. He greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife, sons, friends, and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially driver Brad Keselowsk, and a lifelong fan of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders. He also loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie Fink Smith; his parents Jessie and Mildred of Mt. Pleasant, NC; his brother Timmie Smith and wife Debbie of Mt. Pleasant; his sister Jackie Hallman and husband Danny of Mt. Pleasant, his brother Johnnie and girlfriend Shelia of Mt. Pleasant; his son Cassey Smith and girlfriend Jennifer Schlichting of Sophia, NC; his son Patrick Smith and wife Candice of Kannapolis, NC; and his daughter-in-law Kristin Losh and husband Matthew of Salisbury, NC. He absolutely loved and adored his grandchildren; Skyler Smith of Salisbury, NC; Hunter Smith of Sophia; Kaitlyn Losh of Salisbury; Emerie Smith and an expected grandson of Kannapolis; and Dalton and Taya Schlichting of Sophia. Preceding him in death were his wife’s parents, Claude and Rose Fink. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM that same evening in the Hartsell Chapel and will be officiated by Timmie Smith.
