Rosa Burris

Rosa Belle Burris, 85, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Rosa Belle was born February 13, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Avis Andrew Burris and Isabelle Tucker Burris. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jasper, Gurney and M.G. Burris; and her sister, Rena Stiller. Rosa Belle was an active member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and cherished her church family. She loved helping others and giving of herself to friends as well as strangers. Rosa Belle volunteered with Hospice of Stanly County for more than 23 years and was once recognized as Hospice Volunteer of the Year. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at West Albemarle Baptist Church. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. She is survived by her nephews; Charles A. Burris of Albemarle and Gary Burris of Indian Trail; nieces, Louise Yates of Salisbury, Marlene Hildreth of Albemarle and Patricia Morrow of Charlotte; and numerous great nephews and great nieces.
