Rose Ann Drake, 96 years of age, of Concord, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.
Rose Ann was born March 24, 1920 in Concord, NC to the late Lindo Talbert and the late Lottie Ruth Talbert.
Survivors include her son, Charlie "JR" Drake, III and wife Melinda; daughter, Shirley Kiser; daughter, Carolyne Oliver and husband Jonny; grandchildren, Jeff Drake, Steve Drake, Pam Cook, the late Randy Carter, Keith Hill, Kell Hill and Jeanie Laidlaw; great grandchildren, Javan Drake, Aaron Drake, Seth Drake, Morgan Drake, Noah Dillon, Catherine Johnson, Piper Drake, Jenny Young, Jordan Young, Taylor Young, Rodney Carter, Rochelle Benton, Jeremiah Hill, Jonah Hill, Benjamin Hill, Lydia Hill, C.J. Hill, Cody Hill, Caleb Hill, Kelly S. Hill; six great great grandchildren; special sister-in-law Verla Horton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rose Ann was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, played piano and sang in the choir for nearly 75 years. She was an avid gardener until moving to Five Oaks Manor four years ago. Rose Ann will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by her son JR Drake and Rev. Bill Perkins. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
