Rose Verne

Rose Verne, 85, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at home with family by her side.

Rose was born May 25, 1936 in Miragoane, Haiti, to the late Benisson and Ercella Verne.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Odel Edma and 7 siblings.

Rose was a hard worker and one of the best cooks that we have ever known.  She was very giving and loved to share with others.  She had an infectious smile and it would light up a room.  Rose made everyone feel like they were family.  She will be truly missed, but her spirit lives on forever.

Survivors include three daughters, all of Charlotte, NC, Josette Verne Mercure, and husband, Pierre; Junette Edma Montfluery, and husband Jean Camille; daughter, Edith Jean-Francois, and husband Andre; three brothers, all of Haiti, Dernier, Felix, and Gelin Verne; three sisters, Anelia Jules of Charlotte, NC, Ifela Verne of Haiti, and Luciane Verne of Haiti; grandchildren, Josie Youance, Milana Carruth, David Jean-Francois, Pedmard Mercure, Christina Bowman, Rachelle Selmon, Judd Montfluery, and Rose Montfluery; great-grandchildren, Jovan Youance Jr., Journee Youance, Caydence Bowman, Chavez Bowman II, and Me'aza Mercure.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 am - 10:45 am, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev.
