Roy Brice Alexander

Roy Brice Alexander, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. He was the son of the late Clarence H. (Bub Foust) and Viola Verble Alexander. 

Mr. Alexander was born February 9, 1929 in Concord, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his 1st wife of 45 years, Martha Lowder Alexander; 2nd wife, Peggy Ferguson Haigler Alexander; son, Michael Thomas Alexander; step daughter, Julie Ann Haigler; sister, Ollie Marie Alexander Helms; and brothers, Claude Oscar Alexander and Frank Mack Alexander. 

The graveside service will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens at 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte officiated by Pastor Joey Morrison. 

Roy attended Hartsell high school. In April of 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then reenlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1948. He remained on active duty until his retirement in September of 1968. Active Gideon, East Camp, Concord, NC for several years and continue to remain a member to date. Roy was a master mason ans Past master (2009) of Cabarrus Lodge #720 AF&A Mason, Concord, NC. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #51, Concord, NC for many years. 

Survivors include nephew, Robin Alexander of Spring Lake, NC; step-son, Phillip D. Haigler (wife Linda); sister in laws, Nancy Petty Alexander and Jo Ann Whitley; and special nieces and nephews.
