Roy Gene Barbee, 79 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence in Stanfield.
Roy was born February 25, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late Vernon James Barbee and Dallie Mae Burris Barbee. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Lee J., Marvin, Afton, and Ray Barbee.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Friday, August 18, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Dr. Darrell Nance will follow at 11:00 am in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Dr., Charlotte with military honors.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Morgan Barbee of Stanfield; daughters, Trenna D. Buckman and husband, Tracy Gene, Juanita J. Barbee and husband, Steve, and Lori L. Dennis and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Tasha Houston, Lachet Tallman, Keisha Ollis, Bradley Ornellas, Jeremy Brinkley, Leyna Crane, and Brody Buckman; ten great grandchildren; and sisters, Lois Eudy, Ruth Austin, Verna Mae Layton, and Sadie Whitley.
